  1. Hi Michael,

Congrats on the new Blog. And thanks; it is welcome and needed.

Your help in promoting our Brevard Genealogy Society activities will be a great help.

For general information to other Blog readers, our Brevard Genealogical Society (BGS) meets usually the second Monday of the month at the Central Brevard Library in Cocoa, at 9:30 am. There is no charge to attend the meeting, and guests are welcome. We ususlly have a good, informative program which lasts about an hour, and the meeting is usually over by 11:00 or 11:30.

    Thanks again, Michael,

    Fuller "Sonny" Jones
    President
    Brevard Genealogical Society

  2. About two years ago the official church record book for St. Luke's Episcopal Church of Courtenay (Merritt Island) was returned after being missing for over 50 years. We hope to have an Eagle scout project to transcribe and post the records of our church from it's origins in the late 1880's to the early 1950's. The church was a mission during this time, but baptisms, confirmations, weddings and funerals were recorded in the book by the various priests and bishops who officiated on those occasions. 3. Tom,

Wow, what a find. We would love to have a copy for our library when it is done. Our genealogy volunteers would probably love a project like that if you need help. Although I am sure the Eagle scouts would do a good job it would probably be helpful to have some people involved in the transciption or proofing process who are familiar with the family names in the area at that time as well to cut down on errors.
    Michael
